Investigations continue after a man was found tied to the tree with visible gunshot wounds.
Mondlo Police are investigating a case of murder after they found the body of a man in his 20s in the Nkande Forest near Nquthu, KwaZulu-Natal.
Mondlo Police spokesperson Captain Boysie Khanyile said the deceased had his legs tied to a tree with rope and suffered numerous gunshot wounds last Sunday, Northern Natal Courier reported.
The motive for the murder is unknown at this stage.
Detectives are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
The victim has not yet been identified and police are urging anyone with missing family members to help identify the body.

In a separate incident, an inquest docket was opened after an eight-year-old boy was found hanged from a tree last year.
Montclair police communications officer Warrant Officer Poobalan Marimuthu said the boy was discovered at about 12.30pm at his home in Bertram Place, Woodlands, in KwaZulu-Natal.
Marimuthu added the motive for the alleged suicide remained unknown. No foul play was suspected.
