Zululand has a tropical climate and it can get really hot, especially in summer. If you’re visiting Zululand, you will be spending quite some time outdoors. The South African sun can cause immense damage to your skin – best you protect yourself against harmful UV rays by wearing sunscreen.
Zululand has bugs – a lot of them. Although Zululand is not a malaria area, the mosquitoes here can get very annoying.

Zululand’s vast bird life will leave you in awe. The amazing bird chorus at first light will inspire anyone to find out more about these feathery creatures – even if they’ve never been interested in birds before.
