Shwashweni net tournament victory

SHWASHWENI Primary School’s Mdadane Zenzele netted a penalty kick for his team in the second half of the finals against Madlankala Primary, to not only hand his side a 1-0 victory, but tournament glory at the Grantham Park Primary School Soccer Tournament held on Saturday.

Twelve local primary school’s sent their U13 boys teams to compete in the event sponsored by Old Mutual at Grantham Park Primary School.

The winning school bagged a trophy, medals and a full soccer kit for their efforts.
Competing schools on the day were eShowe Junior School, Malandela, Grantham Park, Madlankala, Matshana, Empangeni Christian School, Shwashweni, St Catherine’s, Thandinkosi, Empangeni Preparatory, Ingweni and Manzimpovu.

Teams will be back in action on 18 August when they compete in the Build It Soccer Tournament at Empangeni Preparatory School from 8am to 3pm.
