Growing a future with food gardens

Does your school or crèche run a food garden project?

School food gardens promote teachings about our food system through outdoor education while building food-resilience in under-resourced areas.

Local schools that have been growing and creating their own gardens are invited to enter the EduPlant competition and stand a chance of winning R435 000 worth of prizes, resources and funding.

The EduPlant programme champions the promotion of sustainable farming through school-based workshops.

These gardens supplement feeding schemes while educating learners on climate change and natural vegetable production.

All schools are encouraged to enter the competition as they can win funding by simply presenting the story of their food garden.

The closing date for entries is today.
