Crucial period for King Cetshwayo

RH Construction King Cetshwayo captain Jason Redinger has been in good form this season and will need to lead from the front if he wants to improve his side's log position

THE RH construction King Cetshwayo cricket squad will head into Sunday’s Castle Premier League fixture against Berea Rovers at Addison Park fresh and well rested after coming off a bye at the weekend.

Third-placed Rovers have impressed this season and delivered when needed and are currently three points clear of fifth-placed King Cetshwayo after 16 league games.

King Cetshwayo captain Jason Redinger and his charges will look to get a win to boost their confidence ahead of their last three games for the season.

The team will play log leaders Crusaders away on Sunday, 11 March, bottom-of-the-log Topham on 18 March and fourth-placed Clares on 25 March.

Picking up a win this weekend will not only move the team up the log, but also provide good momentum heading into the crucial Crusaders clash.

Crusaders have only lost two games this season and are sitting at the top of the log with 60 points.

The local outfit have had a roller coaster season, winning 10 of their 16 games.

But one thing that has played in their favour is the ability to win on the road and with two away games coming up, manager Fuzzy van Aswegen will hope that his troops can continue their good form.

There are kinks to be ironed out, such as the failure of the top batting order to deliver consistently instead for relying on the middle order or tail-enders to get the job done.

Failing to form decent partnerships has come back to bite them

Locals are encouraged to come out to Addison Park on Sunday from 9am and get behind the local side.
