Learners invited to enter accounting Olympiad

LEARNERS only have a few weeks left to enter the South African Institute of Professional Accountants’ (SAIPA) National Accounting Olympiad (NAO).

Entries for the popular competition will close on 26 April.

SAIPA encourages educators to submit names of Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners, particularly those wishing to study for a BCom degree, by requesting entry forms from [email protected]

There is no limit on the number of entries per school, but a registration fee of R50 per learner applies.

‘The Grade 11 paper is being introduced for the first time this year and we urge schools to take advantage of this change,’ said SAIPA Marketing and Business Development Executive, Zobuzwe Ngobese.

‘The entry fee will be waived for no fee schools.

‘The aim of the SAIPA NAO is to make accounting a preferred choice to all students and to promote the option of professional accountancy as a sound choice for further study – a pathway towards a financially and personally rewarding entry into employment.’
