EHS unbeaten in Nite Series

AFTER two action packed rounds of the Zululand Nite Series, a total of 273 points and 47 tries have been scored, with Empangeni High School topping the log with 10 points.

The 10-a-side pre-season rugby conditioning league that has six local U19 boys teams competing on Wednesday evenings at Richards Bay High School, has proved popular among both players and coaches.

Empangeni High, eShowe High, Felixton College, Richards Bay High, John Ross College and Grantleigh are currently contesting for the 2017 title.

Round three will be the final round of the series and will be played on Wednesday 22 February at Richards Bay High School, with the top two teams qualifying for the finals.

Teams placed three and four will play out for third and fourth spot, with teams placed five and six contesting the last two spots of this year’s series.

Round 1 results

Empangeni High School beat eShowe High School 34-17.

Felixton College beat Grantleigh 21-12.

John Ross College beat Richards Bay High School 22-19.

Round 2 results

Empangeni High School beat Felixton College 22-12.

Grantleigh beat John Ross College 26-24.

Richards Bay High School beat eShowe High School 49-15.

Round 3 fixtures at Richards Bay High School on Wednesday 15 February

Empangeni High School vs John Ross College at 3.20pm.

eShowe High School vs Felixton College at 4.15pm.

Richards Bay High School vs Grantleigh at 5.10pm.
