THE uMfolozi TVET College scooped top honours at the third College Sport, Art and Culture South Africa (COSACSA) festival in eSikhaleni last weekend.

The college choir claimed first position in the mixed western music category, while the male vocalists scooped third place in the Male Voice section.

The event was attended by 24 colleges from across the country who participated in various categories.

Student musos battled each other in poetry, dramatised poetry, gumboot dancing, pantsula, hip hop dance and in various other music genres.

College Principal Sam Zungu congratulated the students on their achievements.

‘It was exciting to see youngsters in the TVET sector demonstrating talent and to witness the competition continue to unearth talent,’ he said.

‘We are so proud and excited about the performance of our choir and the success of the event, although we need another dedicated person to go the extra mile and help the students get enough practice to compete in other genres of the arts competition,’ said Zungu.
