Police work on display

ARE you a regular CSI junkie, just dying to know how fingerprint analytics work, or how our top local SAPS units work together to fight crime in our area?

Then don’t miss the CPF Arbovlei open day this Saturday at the Arboretum Primary School grounds.

The Richards Bay SAPS and CPF are teaming up to present a programme filled with fascinating items, including a forensics presentation and a K9 Unit demonstration.

Also included is a traffic police operation, and learn how medical services provide life-saving assistance during an emergency.

Don’t worry about the little ones being bored – there is an entertainment programme tailored specifically for them, and shopping to ensure there are no hungry tummies.

Programme

• 8.30am – Opening by Brigadier Brenda Mgenge

• 8.40am – Robert Mbuyase (R/Bay CPF Chairperson) – ‘CPF Mandate’

• 8.50am – Davie Coetzee (Arbovlei CPF Chairperson) – ‘CPF in practice’

• 9am – Traffic Department presentation – ‘Accident scenes and alcohol testing’

• 9.30am – LCRC static forensic display

• 10am – The 10111 control room & flying squad hijacking demonstration

• 10.30am – CPF patrollers
