Bakkie stolen in Durban North spotted by traffic department in Richards Bay

The stolen bakkie found in Alton on Tuesday

A BAKKIE stolen last Tuesday at a sports field in Durban North was spotted driving along Alumina Allee in Richards Bay on Tuesday.

The uMhlathuze Traffic Department stopped and searched the silver Nissan Navara on Tuesday, matching the plate to the missing vehicle reported last week.

Police immediately arrested the driver, 32-year-old MH Mwali, who appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Wednesday) on a charge of possession of stolen property.

The case will be investigated by the SAPS Empangeni Vehicle Investigation Services unit and the bakkie was returned to its owner yesterday.
