E WERNER and his partner D Smit where a chip above their competition on Saturday, carding 56 points to win the Midbay golf day at the Richards Bay Country Club.

Competitors followed a Better Ball Scramble Drive format along a well manicured course that provided extra bounce on the fairways and soft greens for putting

Andre Spies chips onto the green for two

Vince Foster and Rudi Nel found themselves four points behind the pace, closely followed by third placed Francois Joubert and Marie Terblanche on 50 points.
